An experienced female Personal Assistant is required to provide care with existing PA Team to support lady in her 50’s in Sittingbourne to live independently in their own home. Training will be given but previous work in a PA role or care setting supporting people with physical disabilities preferred. Smoking environment. I also have pets.
A variety of shifts across the week with the following hourly rates: £10.00 with up to 21 hours per week available over 6 days all Double handed care
0630 1 hour
Lunch 30 minutes
Tea 30 minutes
Bedtime 1 hour
+ 5 flexible hours per week
Two references and an Enhanced DBS Check must be received prior to the employment start date and only suitable applicants will be employed.

About the client
General Information
I am a female in my 50’s who has a severe skin condition and physical disability that means that I require care and support to live independently in my home in Sittingbourne.
It is important to me that my Personal Assistants treat me with dignity and respect by allowing me to direct my own care and by supporting me to engage with the wider community.
I am assertive but fun loving and I can make my own decisions. I need a Personal Assistant that has the ability to listen and is honest and trustworthy.
I live in a Smoking environment and I also have two cats.
It is the job of my Personal Assistant to assist in meeting my personal, social and domestic needs as a disabled person, and any other day-to-day requirements or activities, as a result of this assistance I hope to lead an individual, independent and active life in my own home and community.
As my Personal Assistant you should be able to handle the physical tasks of lifting, handling, pushing and bending, unless otherwise stated, you do not need to be physically strong to do certain tasks well, but it does help together with good general health.
Tasks
Below is a list of some of the takes I will require your support with:
getting in and out of bed
dressing and undressing
washing and bathing/showering
attention to hair, skin, nails, feet, eyes etc.
specialist skincare means that PAs should not have long or varnished nails
transferring in and out of bed/wheelchair
shopping and household/domestic routines
taking part in social/leisure activities and occasions
Moving and handling
Medication
Acute management of illness
Maintenance of psychological wellbeing

Responsibilities
Arrive at the agreed time ready to work
Give notice if you are going to be more than 10 minutes late
Communicate and discuss any problems that arise as soon as possible – we will establish a good working relationship through the Induction process and ongoing training
Respect my privacy and maintain a professional approach at all times, being careful to treat your working relationship as confidential, including the nature of the assistance provided
Understand and be mindful of my right to dignity, respect and independence
Respect my possessions and equipment and only use the telephone, television, radio etc. with prior consent
Training
As you will be meeting my personal needs, for the most part the assistance required will be learnt through us working together however when required practical training and guidance will be provided. Online Safeguarding training will be provided and must be completed prior to employment start date.
Training to be provided following probation period:

Maintaining skin integrity and providing bespoke specialist skincare

Maintenance of psychological wellbeing
