People working in roles within employment support specialise in supporting people who need care and support with obtaining and continuing employment.

They may help individuals to identity suitable employment opportunities and provide support with preparing CV’s and interview skills.

These workers may also provide support to individuals and their employers to help them settle into their new job.

Roles within employment support may include:

  • Supported employment worker
  • Employer advisor
  • Inclusion worker

Training/Qualifications

Employment support workers need to possess good people skills.  Qualifications may be less important that life and career experience, but they may be expected to undertake a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
