Day Services are provided by places such as Day Centres.
What is a Day Centre?
Day centres provides a range of services for individuals with social care needs who would like to continue to live in their own homes or with their family or carer. Day centres are community hubs where people can access a range of care and support whilst having somewhere to socialise with others.
Many day centres offer a range of activities and services, an opportunity to socialise with others and a place to meet friends which supports individuals with social care needs to stay active, healthy and be a member of their local community. Day centres can also offer an important break for carers.
Day centres support individuals of all ages including those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, older people, people with dementia, and people with mental health problems.
Day centres may be provided by the local authority or by organisations within the independent or voluntary sector.
